It's My Fault
When you looked at me, my heart shattered
With those sad, tear filled eyes
It made me want to cry
And what hurts even more is knowing I put those tears there
That I broke you
I hurt you, I promised I wouldn’t when you gave me your heart
But I did, I never meant to though
I know that doesn’t make it any better, any less painful
I know that doesn’t fix the chip in your heart
You handed it to me and I dropped it on the ground
God does it hurt to see that look on your face
Feels like a knife in my heart as I search for the the piece that broke off of yours
Because maybe things will be better if I could just glue it back together
You may not forgive me but atleast you will be whole again
You would have a chance to be happy again
The idea of you being happy makes me happy, but it stings a little to think
You will be happy with someone else
But if you’re okay, then eventually I will be too
