Snow Cone
Sprinkle me to sleep with the shadows of your daydream
melt into the pillowcase like ice in
the summer.
blanket of stars tucked under my back
psychic breath and sweaty palms on my neck
writing poems in the dark-
I wish you were here.
hop scotch hot in high waisted shorts
I want your ice cream tongue pressed between my brace faced teeth
kiss me on beat like double dutch in the street.
Tell me your fears but whisper them slowly
You are the beauty in the darkness
I’ll kiss you with torn lips
freckles like body count
sew me up tight
and stuff me with sadness
the way you touch is like ice in the summer
cool me off so I can’t feel the pain
trick me so I think there is none.
