Hiding
Walking through school you see her.
The girl with everything
She's athletic and smart but reserved
Enough to not be class favorite.
She celebrates with her team after a win
And averages a low A in class.
How can she be athletic and smart
And still not be popular?
She must be hiding something.
Standing in front at church
She lifts her hands in worship
Side by side with her friends.
She writes down her revelations
from the message and leads
A middle school small group after.
Yet she doesn't talk openly
about God outside of church.
She must be hiding something.
At home she does her homework
At the kitchen table,
Eats dinner with her family,
and watches a few shows on the tv
Before retreating to her room.
She's quite, so her parents think
She must be hiding something.
