A Tribute to You
You taught me the Devil does not have to appear ugly
Freckles scatter randomly across His youthful face
His lips taste like Heaven
His hands feel like Home
The first time I ever laid eyes on Him
I was swept into a trance
Little did I know
This parasite already found His new host
I did not heed the warning signs my angels sent
When I held you I was infinite
Infection flooded my veins
Without you my lungs resumed their silent process of decay
I lost all my faith at once when I decided to lose you
It was selfish of me to believe I walked alongside Gods and Monsters
You may be filled with evil and destroy others without feeling remorse
But you are a human that can be broken just as easily as he breaks others.
