Cliffs

She is hanging off the edge,
I see her fingers slipping.
I’m not strong enough to pull her up;
If I tried, we’d both just fall.
I want to help,
I want to save her,
But this is her mountain to climb.
Desperation claws at me,
I want to run,
I want to help,
I want to be the one to change it all,
To fix what's been broken,
To take back what she doesn't deserve.
I can just watch,
As her fingers begin to caullouse,
And her knuckles begin to bleed,
As she tries to pull herself up.
I cheer her on,
Remind her that she’s a fighter,
But at the end of the day,
The bruises she is now prone to are hers,
The wounds she bears now will one day be battle scars,
And I can only do my best to dress them,
If she can climb back up.

For her, who I know can win her fight.

I love this :) I really relate to the idea, even when you have someone so close to you they're willing to do anything for you, your struggles and life are still and always will be yours. Really nice poem, I do think you could've broken it up into separate stanzas, but all in all it was very good :)
