Refuse to sink
For those who curl up in bed with their cat, watching Netflix, eating nuttela alone.
For the people who are calling you names
The people who can't accept you for who you are
People who bring you down every single day.
Don't listen to them,
Refuse to sink
When you get told you are never good enough
Refuse to sink
Whenever people tell you that you are worthless
And when harsh words trigger painful memories that make you break down.
Refuse to sink
When you have to sit alone at lunch
With no one to talk to and tell all the exciting things that had happened that day,
Sitting with no one to laugh along with and show the world your smile
No one.
Refuse to sink
When you are feeling shy and cooped up in your own little bubble,
Refuse to sink
Having to read two words out of a book in front of the class and getting anxious because you are worried you might screw up.
Refuse to sink
For the people who cant seem to find a place where they belong or someone to understand them.
Refuse to sink
It's okay to not feel like you don't fit in.
Don't let your troubles take a hold of your arm and pull you down.
Take a hold of the rope that holds you up and pull, pull, pull up and up until you reach the top and see the beautiful sky waiting for you.
What ever is pulling you down, don't let it drown you.
Refuse to sink.
Don't believe those words they tell you.
Their words don't mean a thing
And it's okay to break down and cry.
You are worth something
This world isn't perfect, you aren't perfect, no body is perfect. No one.
We all have our quirks and weird things we do.
You should embrace your weird quirks.
Fly your freak flag.
People have to understand that others are sensitive to specific things.
They don't have a right to bully you and act like you are invisible.
You aren't air. You are a human being.
People need to learn how to give more love and understanding to the people who go through all the bad stuff in their life. They shouldn't learn how to create problems others lives, or to bully them.
You are worth so much more than all the pain you go through.
You can get though this.
And to the people who have a hard time at home
And for the kids who feel neglected
For the older sisters taking care of their little brothers and sisters because their parents had left them and let them try and survive on their own
Refuse to sink
For the people who just want to slip away into the sunset and get away for a while.
Refuse to sink.
You have to go through many storms before the sun comes and greets you.
Just know in your head that all of these problems are not permanent.
Your problems are all temporary.
Your may be in the storm now, but the sun is awaiting you.
You'll see it soon.
