The Tyrant King
I am the Tyrant King
All hail the Tyrant king!
When my armies lay defeated,
Soldiers,
My own and the enemies join together and cheer,
Down with the Tyrant King.
As they cheer, I laugh for they believe that the fighting shall end here.
As they cheer, I say, “Live in Peace, Birds of Prey, Live in Peace.”
When my cities crumble,
Civilians crawl out of the woodwork to cheer as there gilded cages crumble,
And as the sky is made clear to them, they cheer,
Down with the Tyrant King.
As they cheer, I laugh for they believe they can fly.
As they cheer, I say “Fly Icarus, Fly.”
As my prisons are stormed and prisoners liberated,
They Cheer,
Down With the Tyrant King.
As they cheer, I laugh for they have no future.
Years of their livelihood has been robbed from them by I,
The Greatest thief, the greatest criminal of all,
I, the Tyrant King.
As the war draws to a close and I have been captured,
I laugh and mutter,
Down with the Tyrant King.
As I am brought before the spectators,
Youths and Elderly alike cheer,
Down with the Tyrant King
And as the guillotine takes my head,
I am left laughing,
For when the games are over, and checkmate has been declared,
All the pieces,
Black and white, strong and weak, victor and loser,
Go back from where they came.
How many heads had been taken on my orders?
I know not.
This is not punishment for a Tyrant King, but rather a mercy,
That he should gain the same punishment as those who had fought for freedom and justice.
What need fear a Tyrant?
When justice be so weak?

I was inspired to write this peice by the saying, "At the end of the game, the king and the pawn go in the same box."
The poem had a political undertone, and it protests the merciful way the the UN has chosen to deal with dictators. The tyrants kill and imprison thousands.
If the same is done to them, then only one person has been repaid for his suffering, but no justice has been done on behalf of the other 999.
