Painted lies
When asked to write my memories
I painted a picture entirely new
With soft ground and golden sky’s
Hiding painful rocks and crystal lies
When asked to tell of my family
I took a picture of different clarity
With smiling faces and understanding
Hiding scowls and screaming
When asked to describe feelings
I wrote a poem that sang of “love”
With rhyming words and beautiful couplets
Hiding hateful things and ugly lies
When asked to tell of my self
I spoke of beauty and love
With strong relationships full of trust
Hiding darkness and deception
