Gardens
Before you
it was winter in my heart
all the time.
I built up walls
around my cold, icy heart.
I didn't want to get close
to anyone like you.
I was scared of getting hurt
once again
by the people
who called themselves my friends.
But you climbed by walls,
and like the sun
you slowly thawed my heart.
Carefully,
you planted the gardens
that use to grow.
You took your time
and everyday
tended to my gardens.
You knew it took some time
for seeds to grow
so you stayed.
And when I flourished
you stayed,
and kept me alive
