Flames to Ashes
Surrounded but alone. Together but apart.
Fixed but broken. Close but far. Temporary but permanent.
Change.
What was once a perfect flame,
is now rubble and remains.
You cannot un-burn the wood;
nor bring the sticks back.
Ashes are set free,
thrown away and lost at sea.
Change.
Different but the same. Revealed but hidden.
Afloat but buried. Found but lost. Rescued but dead.
