The Have's and the Have-not's
The world we live in is a ladder.
A wall there to support us.
One mistake and we go plummeting
downward.
Having to pick up the ladder and journey up the steps once again.
At the bottom you're pathetic.
Someone who doesn't have any nails to hang the picture that is his life.
As you climb higher and higher,
you see no end.
No matter how hard you climb,
climbing until your legs are sore,
you will always stay put.
We look up to see the ones who had no need to climb.
But to have been handed the keys to the glass elevator.

I had to write this for ELA and I felt that it was very good.
