Who We Really Are
The way we look up to them
when we should be looking down
but in our mind,
we are less
we are not enough
we try so hard
to chane.
They take our
opinions,
thoughts,
and our mind
away.
They paint a fake smile
as easy as they make us frown
we accept,
none of us realize
the torture,
the change,
the insecurity.
They know what they're doing
they want us to say,
"who am i now?"
They want us to ponder
if we are worth it
they want us to try
to be them
to satisfy them.
Fake laughs,
new friends,
more questions.
We are being
taken,
over.
By whom we want to be,
pulled on a leash,
by a leader that we want to please.
When will we realize,
that this is not,
who we want to be.
It's who we really are.
