Gryphons Delight

I walked through the forest,
frozen in white.
It really is cold, on this clear winter’s night.
-But I don’t feel cold.

I often see people,
though they not often me.
I’m not the kind to be a pet,
I’d rather be wild and free.
-Though I still help when I can.

A panthers speed, a lions might.
A birds wings, and an eagles sight.

I am of these things,
-But only as a part of a whole.

I walked through the forest, now illuminated by dawn’s light.
I stretch out my wings, get ready, and take flight.
It’s not often I find such a peaceful, calm night.
-Such times like these are a gryphon’s delight.
