Black shoes click and clack

On the floor as black suits
Walk into first round.

Hearts drum
Faster and faster
They plummet into the
Stomach.

Where there met by
Multiple colored wings of
Swarming butterflies.

Then brains shut down.

Like the drumming
Of Earth’s surface during an
Earthquake.

Of the legs like those of
A baby foal’s as it
Stands for the first time.

Swaying halts
When recognition downs.

Like a dog waiting
For a treat.

The defeat in their
Falling faces
As the
Evidence was read.

The piece of evidence that
Poked one too many
Holes into there
Case
