High School
It is sad, as I have done it too, that we echo the words "wait until they hit high school, they are going to get a fast reality check,"
Not only do we speak of their childish immaturity that is natural, but we speak of:
Self-expression,
The stress level from academics,
Oppressors,
Depression,
and the helplessness.
"You think middle school is difficult? Wait until you reach high school," most students could say in unison, as if they were reciting their daily tasks to their friends
This is not of teenage melodrama, or of apathy to scare off children
But more the true testament of society as it stands
Where suicides and school shootings are more common
Where turning to performance drugs is a release from academic stress
Where being yourself is a target for mental torture on your back
Where the reality is we are all upset, broken children who are being pushed into the real word
to become broken adults.

Being on the bus and thinking about what we say to kids younger than us, and just realizing why and how society sets it up. I hope people can learn to change what goes around in their high school, just a little bit.
