A Clean Lie
The drops hit my head
add a 100 years of shame
I watch tears go down the drain
  as it imitates my life
I take the towel and dry
trying to scrape  away the pain
  I dry my legs
  i'm scaling a tower
i slide open the shower door
  pushing away blame
I put on clothes, try to hide
  sorrow and vain
draw a smiley face in the mirror
  smother it until
  I force a smile
  I say my name
then walk out into the world
  clean
  like i have no pain
