The Angel
I clutch the locket close to my heart
  Everyday, those little moments
The ones that come and pass
  If I could only
  stop
  time
  To hold onto what matters
  But the smile
  deceives
  and the eyes
  betray
  The heart beats
  but sometimes it fails
  either to love
  or accept love
What if I were to tell you
that my heart beats out of time
  to it’s own beat
  It has it’s own failures
  You’ve come to tell me
  that my heart
  is wrong
  that’s why
  you
  are
  killing me
  This locket
  is my saving grace
  she was my only
  hope
  Now
  She is gone
  but I am still trying
  to hold onto
  what
  cannot
  be held
