The Flight of Time
when the angels fell
did they face upward
at the luminescent sky
from which they came;
the fists of wind
resisting their descent,
the sun scattered
behind squinted eyes -
or rather,
did they look down
upon the old threshold;
a chaotic and consistent force
of wind on their faces,
look into the
countless white eyes
of the beautiful creatures
whom they have protected
since the apple was eaten

If you were to fall from the sky, would you rather have your back against the wind and your sight on the clouds, or your face against the wind and your sight on mystery?
