Graduation
Tyree Ferguson
1-9-15
4th hour Ms Locano
Graduation
Graduation comes so fast,
It’s right around the corner.
I've been waiting for this moment since the
Beginning of school.
Sort of like a guy waiting for a promotion,
I'm anxious, anxiety is building,
It’s crazy,
Sort of a good bad feeling.
I know there's probably people I won’t
Ever see again, but I will miss all my friends.
Graduation means so much to my family,
Me as well, one thing I keep in my mind...
I WILL NOT FAIL!
Tyree Ferguson wants the reader to notice he uses stanzas in his writing; he uses them because they are three different shifts in the poem. He also wants the groups of stanzas to be read at a faster speed. Ferguson also uses metaphor in the poem. When Ferguson says “I’ve been waiting for this moment since the beginning of school. Sort of like a guy waiting for a promotion.” Ferguson uses this poem to demonstrate a level of improvement in his poem writing.
