On a cool windy night
All seemed asleep and quiet
A young child saw it fit to sneak in the dark
Something caught his sight
A bright unnatural light
High in the sky
He could see it glower
From an atrium in a story tower
Two fathomless eyes over the land did brood
The calm gaze did not disguise,
The hate that could light glacial ice.

The dead at heart are preyed upon,
The vulturous queen had known well
That once their hearts are ripped
And their tongues snipped
A nation was as good as dead.
But when the stench of carcass can't be ignored
Young blood grows bold
Betrayed by her people, the she-devil seethed.
For at present her horns were sheathed.
The queen was bitter with defeat
Her kingdom trampled under enemy feet
The naive boy thought himself unseen
He didn't feel the eyes, narrowed and keen
Her vengeance was soon to come,
The young innocent did not know,
Upon daybreak he'd be the first one to go.
