Blood seeps slowly,
time tick-tick-ticking away.
A howl erupts from the darkness
heart-shattering loud.
Does anyone even care?
you ponder.
Do they see I’m here?
Alone and afraid, I’m here.
Blood seeps quicker,
Time tock-tock-tocking away.
The wail of an ambulance sounds far in the distance.
They will never get here in time.
Black dots, cynical thinking,
time will soon be over.
The grandfather clock chimes 12 times far-off
as I’m slipping away.
