The world spins with chaos.

                 - STOP -

Nothing else matters in this hallway.

It's all a blur. Except you, me, and --

her.

She's gazing at you with those

deceiving brown eyes

Her plump lips cracked into a smile and her head

thrown back as if she understood the joke you told her.

But she wouldn't understand --

            she couldn't.

I'm the only one who understands you.

I know of your every little imperfection.

Well, to you they're imperfect.

To me?

You radiate the definition of perfect.

        Because you are.

                 - REWIND -

The film of all our memories plays through my head

from present to past.

        Wait, there!

                  - PAUSE -

A stilled picture of us.

Nothing else.

My hands are cupping your face.

I remember moving my lips against your neck

Planting sweet kisses on your cheeks, your forehead, your nose-- your lips.

I remember staring into your eyes

Oh those eyes,

you enchanted me with those dark caring eyes...

Snap out of it!

                - SKIP FORWARD, STOP -

Back to reality.

Back to this desolate hallway where

instead of two souls, there's three:

Her, me, and --

you.

I walk up to you and stare into your eyes.

Those eyes hold the same emotion you used to comprise for me.

I'm afraid to continue.

      I know I'll lose you.

               Maybe I already have.

I give you one last kiss,

                               whisper a painful goodbye,

and a choked I love you.

                                                  - PLAY -

The author's comments:

I hope people get the feeling of what it was like to have a first love and remembering what it is was like to lose him/her. To remember high school romance and being jealous of whoever that person you "loved" dated next. And lastly, to remember the feeling of thinking that person was going to be your forever and always.
