Listening Ear
That's when I realized something, they didn't care about me. They wanted a listening ear, someone to be by their side. They didn't care about me, it could have been anyone, I just happen to be there. When I left they stopped talking to me, they didn't make any effort to talk to me as much as I wished they would. I saw them once, because they wanted a listening ear. I was happy to see them, they didn't care, they just wanted someone to listen, a listening ear to their story. It took me so long to realize I was nothing. I was just a passersby to their life. Once I was gone they didn't care. I see it now, how much I really meant to them, all the plans we have made, all stories we shared, nothing. How are you doing? They won't answer, unless there is a story they want to share, even then there are other passengers to their life. After ten years it took me so long to realize how meaningless I really am.
