Unspoken Speakers
Unspoken Speakers
It seems like an ancient time
Hidden behind the speakers.
The 1900s.
It seems as if our generation,
Has forgotten what it means to feel.
Everyone on their phones.
At home. At dinner. In the bathroom.
Everywhere.
But when the beat of a song starts,
We put down our technology,
so that we let ourselves be free.
As free as an eagle soaring through the sky.
A brown tint of the radio.
A black sharpness of a button.
The screen of the speaker.
The smooth and polished wood.
The feeling of music.
Moving through your veins.
The boom of our favorite song
Coursing through your body.
We know what it means to feel.
We don’t always show it,
But we do.
Without music, we wouldn’t.
Without the speakers,
The world would be unspoken.
