Soft melodies
Laced with lyrics
Of compassion,
And confessions
Of attraction.
The vocalists
And lovers
Find one another,
And fly together ,
Triumphant.
Wing in wing.
But as they fly
Others remain bound.
Singing songs
And melodies
Of love not found.
But none hear,
And none listen.
And lone songbirds
With quiet voices
Remain alone.
Their love unknown,
And unrequited.
