Once Upon A Time
Once upon a time, I thought I was free
Once upon a time, I thought no one owned me
But once upon a time, something was broken inside
And once upon a time, I didn’t want to be alive
Then, once upon a time, there was a voice inside my head
Once upon a time, I listened to what it said.
Once upon a time, he said his name was Ed.
Once upon a time, he became my best friend.
Once upon a time, he helped me make it through
Once upon a time, I did whatever he told me to do
Once upon a time, he told me to change my ways
And once upon a time, I went to work right away
Because once upon a time, Ed promised he knew what was best
And once upon a time, I believed every word he said
Because once upon a time, I only saw my flaws
And once upon a time, I hated who I was
Once upon a time, I was scared of what might be
So once upon I time, Ed planned my future for me
Once upon a time, he said he was my friend.
But once upon a time, I realized I was misled.
Because once upon a time, I thought he kept me from going over the edge.
But once upon a time, he pushed me over it instead.
Once upon a time, I realized he wanted me dead.
Once upon a time, I cried myself to sleep.
Because once upon a time, I realized I was in too deep.
Once upon a time, I wanted to leave Ed.
Once upon a time, he pulled me closer instead.
Once upon a time, Ed was all I could see
And once upon a time, I lost sight of who was really me
But once upon a time, I started to put up a fight
Once upon a time, I fought with all my might
Once upon a time, I wanted to give in
But once upon a time, I knew I needed to win.
