The Night Sky
When you look up at the night sky tonight,
There will be one more star
Shining brighter than the rest.
She left us before him,
But now that he’s gone too
We are at our lowest.
It happened yesterday morning
When I was away
And at my finest.
Then I went down to the farm
And I did not understand
Why everyone was at their saddest.
I was taken aside,
Told of what happened,
And hated this new test.
Everyone mourned and cried,
But eating dinner without him
Was by far the hardest.
Now, the four of us sit
Staring up at the sky
Looking for its new guest.
At least they’re together now,
For next to his is her star
And together they’ll shine the brightest.
