The Tower That We Build
We climbed up the hill
Carrying bricks on our backs
When we would stand still
The bricks would start to stack
Whips on our flesh
With no chance to rest
We would continue to climb
But we had little time
The top out of site
The bricks piled with might
We stacked one by one
But we were far from done
We fell on our backs
They cut us no slack
I got up and moved
Then stared at the moon
It was already night
With no will to fight
I thought of the week
Wondering what tomorrow will bring.
