Mighty Eighth Museum
I see pristine looking flags peering down at the guests as I walk in the front door.
I see pictures of cities burned to rubble form exploding bombs and grisly attacks.
I see myriad amounts of pictures of soldiers in battle or who were already deceased.
I see a shiny b-17 sitting on the showroom floor as if it had just landed.
The late morning sunlight pours into the showroom window brightening the room.
The light lays upon the planes to make them glisten.
I felt worried for the soldiers today fighting for our country and I felt bad for the veterans because of the things they went through.
I hear my tour guide shouting over the crowd to give us thought-provoking facts of WWII.
I hear shoes attempting to be silent while walking through the museum.
I hear quiet murmurs of amazement.
How would a WWII veteran tell a story of flying a b-17 plane?

I went on an 8th grade probe trip to Savannah and we visited the Mighty Eighth Museum: it really spoke to me with all of the facinating facts. When we got back to school, we had to write a poem about our favorite place that we visited on the trip. The Mighty Eighth Museum was definitely the best.
