Lasagna on Overtime
Jammed all together
Sauce, pasta, cheese and meat
Thrown on top one another
Into the oven they all go,
My expectations set high, in hopes of tasty Lasagna to eat.
Cheese in shreds of yellow and white
From the oven emitting a great bad odor
Gone lovely brown then black, it just doesn’t look right
The first sign of the burnt lasagna in sight
The pasta of the Lasagna with an unusual squiggle
Cringing pasta, it has shrunken
Lasagna, gone from al dente to scorched
The rectangular pasta pieces, not worth eating
Sauce, flavorful, rich and a bright red
This is what I wish mine was
oozing through the whole lasagna
Brown, tasteless, runny
My sauce is this
Like Mud
Meat, exactly 96% meat and 4% fat
Oils bubbly in and out
Black on outside and a bright pink on the inside
Burnt and raw is how my meat came to be
The Lasagna I made turned out to be terrible
Lots of expectations set
None of the expectations met
The whole things gone bad
No it can’t be true
The lasagna that lies before me
Black and Crispy
Colorless with a revolting bouquet
Makes anyone sad with just a glance
No, it can’t true...
