Why I Write

I write to turn thoughts into reality.  I write to make sure my character is seen.  I write to expose myself, my mind.  I write to relax.  I write to pass time.  I write to so my head doesn’t explode.  I write to show the world of my capabilities.  I write for self-respect.  I write to get my authority on paper.  I write to make sure I don’t leave anything behind.  I write to tire out my wrist and make my back sore.  I write to finish what I started.  I write to capture the past.  I write to predict the future.  I write to build up adrenaline – the inner fire of suspense.  I write because it’s a chore.  I write because there is nothing else to do.  I write because I can.

I took a week long creative writing class in the summer, and it inspired me to slow down and write about my emotions and why I write.
