Oh Captain My Captain
My Captain, you are the leader in my life
You make my words have reason and give them light
When you take a step I walk in pace
For without your guidance this would not be my fate
My Captain, you take little credit of which you deserve more
Full of courage and kindness for all of us to adore
Vast like a mountain range I always see
With the advice you give me when no one else would believe
My Captain, how can't you see what you have done
I could write a poem comparing you to the sun
How your sarcastic rants inspire such, none could compare
When your soothing voice leaves your mouth it flows like air
My Captain, you don't see how much I've heard
Because Oh Captain, My Captain you give meaning to my words
"Oh Captain My Captain" is a poem by Walt Whitman
