Ode to Seasonal Depression
The white begins to fade
Revealing green, blade by blade
The flowers begin to bloom
My thoughts steer from doom
As the sun grows strong
And the days stretch long
I have finally become well
I completely emerge from my shell
The leaves start to drop
The long days come to a stop
This is when I lose hope
This is when I reach for the rope
The temperature is below zero
I cannot become my own hero
My motions continue slowing
I see no reason to keep going.
