Another Day
I silently stalk the prey
My heart beats quicker out of
Fear and adrenaline as blood rushes
Thick in the veins of woods
My eyes say I’m sorry my friend
While the prey sighs deeply and says
All is understood
Guilty hands lower his lids and
Trembling lips try to spill words
To make up for what he has done
But all is not well
The deafening cry of the universe
Mourns for its lost son
While he who called brother
Lives to see another day
