Our love was ephemeral
Gone in the blink of an eye
An infinitesimal second
I feel like I might die
Now I'm stuck in perdition
The plangent wind screaming in my ears
I have nothing left
Except all of my fears
The banality of this life
Will extirpate me
If only, if only you could see
Mellifluous words, baleful in truth
As pernicious as the ending of youth
