the need to replenish the world
such a strange thing
to then love and care for
and take under our wing
if this love is being given
without limitation
the job of a parent requires dedication

so consider this, when you raise a fist
or gouge an eye with your piercing hiss
do this reflection because parents are a blessing and
you too, one day, may rise to the task
becoming parents as your children ask
“mommy, what is love?” and you’ll answer:
“all of the above”
