City Romance
Lost in the crowd
They saw nothing but each other
In the midst of the chaos
They danced to music only they could hear
Separate from society
Everything else ceased to exist
The world they roamed
With nothing but music and themselves
Through bright lights and noisy streets
They fell in love on the street corner
On the pale grey stairs to forever
On a park bench
On a silent night
The stars sang an unforgettable melody
And they danced with the flowers for a thousand years
And finally when their legs gave out and they collapsed in the meadow
They laid in each others warm embrace
And kissed under the midnight sky
And knew eternity
Would not be long enough.
