Like Father and Daughter
You call me lil' lady or pretty lady.
You ask how I am.
You tell the truth.
You make me feel loved,
you make me feel blessed.
I'm messy, cursed, and disorganized,
but you see past that.
You see what no one else sees,
you see what no one else wants seen.
You check up on me,
asking about last night,
asking if I'm safe,
asking if I need him.
A beautiful love,
almost father and daughter like,
only we're friends.
You make my world spin.
I love you for everything,
every nightmare keeping me up,
every heartbreak,
every unwanted contact,
like father and daughter
