My name is Min,
I hardly sin.
I came to America in hopes to sing;
however, instead I found my king.

He is 6 foot 4,
far from poor.
He’s built like Hulk,
ever so bulk.

When I was little,
and used to fiddle,
I was told,
“Always be bold
Never give up and never give in,
Follow your heart,
until it darts.”

10 years wasted,
twice impregnated.
Nothing but hatred,
for you my love- Ackrid.

I gave you my all,
up until this fall.

One day during lunch,
I had a hunch.
Seven years from now, you’ll awake,
and your heart will ache.
Not with pain,
for I was your cocain,
but with regret,
for when we met
my path was then offset.

So here i stand,
ready to land.
Far from home,
now all alone.

Keep in touch,
for I love you much-
my one true love,
my only shove.

Throughout this poem, I was really trying to capture the life and perspective of an immigrant women who had given up her original dreams and goals of furthering her career as a talented singer, to become a loving mother and wife. However after so many years of marriage, she still feels like something is missing and gets the sense her husband can feel it too. Even though she deeply loves her husband and kids, she leaves back to her homeland determined to find what's missing.
