citrus kiss

Citrus odor as I break the seal
The flint of a lighter grinds against steel
Smoke rushes in like a gale breeze.
Bees start buzzing in my head.
Another flash of light
I am stuck standing in my bed.
My sheets trap me in the night.
I feel sticky, those can’t be cuffs
Sirens, onlookers gazing with fright
A flash of a light sent my feet to fly.
Its below zero, they threw me in the snow.
Flash after flash, the bees are back
Another storm, this is the norm.
Smoke leaves my lips
Citrus gives an ice cold kiss.
Kiss of death,
get out of my head
I can’t sleep in my bed,
Get out of my head
I’m almost dead
Get out of my head
I still miss the citrus kiss.
