I will never forget the time

My therapist compared me

To Good Will Hunting.

She asked if i ever saw the movie-

I said no-

Because i fell asleep.

But the forty-nine minutes

Where I was awake

Were just enough for me to understand-

I’m exactly the patient

All therapists are loathe to have.

But she still gets my mother’s money-

$10 at the door,

Who knows how much more?

She gets paid

To do nothing-

Yet she hates me.

She says I make her feel

Like a failure,

And I thought

Well,

I guess I make everyone feel

Like a failure.

Because how could I not,

When a failure-

An unfixable failure-

Is all that I am?
