I am polite and open-minded
I wonder what my future will be like
I hear birds singing
I see the tree swing back and forth
I want to see this everyday
I am polite and open-minded

I pretend I don’t see what's wrong in the world
I feel like nothing goes right
I touch the clouds in the sky
I worry for the kids that don’t get to see the world
I cry because people die everywhere
I am polite and open-minded

I understand how people feel
I say what I believe in
I dream about the world being a better place
I try to help as many people I can
I hope that people will see the good in everything
I am polite and open-minded

I really like your poem! I like this line from your poem, "I pretend I don’t see what's wrong in the world", I do it too. I put on a mask and play the oblivious card. Maybe it's because I don't want to know? I also thought that this line from your poem was interesting, "I hope that people will see the good in everything" I wonder what exactly you meant by that? When I read it, I pictured you meant that you wish for others to see the silver linings... that you wish people weren't so pessimistic? It makes me think of a lot of 'What if' questions. Your poem is really touching, it speaks out and makes me think. It's very inspiring. You did a great job!
