New Beginning Luminescence
Cruelty, is one simple word with thousands of different broad meanings.
Cruelty is not just a feeling.
Cruelty is not knowing what’s next.
Cruelty is looking down a hallway; pitch black
feeling a presence staring back.
Cruelty can be numbing to the soul
It can escape with your heart, leaving an empty hole.
Darkness represents, distortment.
Living a life of torment.
Imagine this; you’re starving
you open your fridge to find nothing,
your stomach viciously snarling.
Passed out on the couch is your dad,
“Shhhhh”
because if you wake him it’s more than likely gonna be bad.
Your dad doesn’t have a job, you’re starving and hurt
You’re a prisoner in your home, and you have nowhere else to go
you’re helpless, because nobody knows.
You don’t even know, any second he could open his hazel eyes awake,
and then blame you for his mistake
For God’s sake
Get help before it’s too late.
Before it’s already over with, and it’s time to rest the case.
There’s no time to save face.
I needed them and they left when they were needed most.
I’m almost grown and as for those two being parents, no effort was shown.
And Ma, is probably relieved she’s not directly mentioned in any verse
Where has she been?
I'm patiently waiting for her presence to even emerge.
Now listen, darkness is only dark if you don’t turn on a light.
in order to find some brightness, you might have to fight.
There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel
just find your escape, like oil escaping a funnel
You get out of bed in the dark to turn on the light,
You have to move through the darkness in order to regain sight.
Being in the dark for so long might leave your vision distorted,
Stop torturing yourself,
get out of the dark,
find the brightness,
and move toward it.

What inspired me to write this is I was at a time in my life were I was ready to overcome my past, make myself new and stop letting the shade of my past stop me. I hope people able to relate in some way, and know that in order to get a rainbow you need a little rain.
