Happy
The birds are singing,
The sky is blue,
Gentle sun rays are stirring in the room.
Slow, smooth winds caressing my hair.
There are kids outside, playing in their yards
Without a care in the world, living life like there's no more.
A perfect day.
Not unlike the one many wish to live.
So why can't we be happy?
We've made mistakes,
Life has turned it's rails.
But through all struggle we've learned to love.
We've learned to wish and hope.
We know what's peace,
We know what it is to feel free,
We know how it feels to care and be cared for.
We know exactly how excitement feels.
And yet we find ourselves in a constant war, on the perfect day.
We've gone through hardships, yes
We've gone through war.
We've gone through the loss of those we love.
But, is that really reason enough?
Like the laughter of those little kids, who are oblivious of what life is going to bring.
Like the singsong of those birds, flying in the winds.
Though we all know one day they're going to cease,
We know we stand a chance to live happily.
If only we could see,
In fact, not only see but understand
What's right before our eyes,
We'll live in peace of mind.
If only we could understand
That there's more to life than the needs of humankind.
And that just a smile can make you change
Your rawest feelings at the deepest pain.
But there are those humble enough to see much more.
They see the blessings all around them, they see life to its core.
They are wise enough to appreciate those times in life in which they can see a clear sky.
And to live a happy life they're committed, they all swore.
