My Mom
My eyes search for your
loving words of solace
that they can not see.
Why do you avoid me when
I’m wrong?
A waterfall of
names and cursing
pours out of your mouth
when I’m not right,
crashing into a
beautiful lake
filled with life and colorful words of
appreciation in attempt
to make up for what was
previously said.
I don’t understand
what you want me to do.
You say you want to talk,
but then put it off for
some other time
the clock never strikes,
eternally leaving me
hanging,
wondering
if you’ll be there,
when no one else is.
