Imitation of Jerk by Christina
I hate your smile,
your cackling laugh.
I hate your mind,
and it’s unbearable wrath.
I hate your ears,
the unrealistic rumors
you think they hear,
your shrill, violent voice,
the nightmare,
I fear.
You lovely liar,
you know it’s true,
I wish I could
whisper the words of wisdom
you lack,
to your somber soul,
every side of it.
Here I stand,
still by your side.
Do you believe me?
your vibrant voice challenged,
the conscious part of me
defying your every sound
screaming out ¨no¨,
yet for some reason,
I say yes.
