White Walls
The walls are painted pale white.
Crying tears of torment and trauma,
wishing they would one day see
something more than the hurtful words spit out
meant to maim.
To dig in and lay eggs of self destruction.
Someday a happy family will occupy the
opaque walls, with smiling frames,
filling them not with the smoke stains
built from years of chain smoking.
Yellowing the beautiful walls of young memories
The holes in the walls
left from late night fights
will one day be filled with putty,
the cracks and break filled with fresh paint
of new merry memories.
Laughter and hugs,
not punches and slugs
One day the walls will gaze upon a beautiful family,
clustered around a christmas tree
or sitting down for dinner every sunday,
sipping laughter and holding smiles.
Never knowing the dark secrets these white walls have seen.
Some day these white walls will once again
be the home to a happy family,
a real family.
someday, but not today.
