Starry Night Wanderer
She observes the sky above her
Blue and white swirling around
The yellow stars contrasting
Against the whimsical hues
Of shades of blue and green
She crunches against the ground
Grass succumbing under every footstep
She takes.
Lying under the pointed bark
Of a sharper tree,
She rests her eyes
As the dimming sky does the same.
She’s not sure what she’ll do
When she wakes up
But in this moment,
She’s on top of the world.
This evening sky that deprives her
Of feeling and sleep and
Everything
Grows darker until they appear
Invisible.
