Mediocrity is my submission
It is not the summer that drowns my mind.
It is not the winter that chokes the kind.
Everyday it is storming, at least a little.
I find there is no good or evil, just mediocrity; stuck in the middle.
It is not happy, and it is not pain.
It is the constant storm that drowns the sane.
Is it not exciting to think of a peaceful tomorrow?
One with optimism, to return the negative borrowed.
A life deep in the ground to soothe the brain.
This singular thought is what keeps me tame.
I have no fear for a lack of tomorrow.
I know my body is a body borrowed.
It is given from the Earth with a promise of return.
These bodies are a gift, because without, our soul would have no lesson to learn.
