The Worthy and the Few
They stood their watch.
Helped the wounded,
Every second of their day was spent helping others,
Worried but they hid it.
Obeyed their country at all times,
Rightfully earned respect.
They alwaysed did the right thing,
Handed over their lives for our country,
Years of their lives taken to serve.
Always helping other,
Never thought of themselves but thought of their whole squad.
Didn’t worry about anything but what’s in front of them.
They alwaysed think of others,
Hiding from the bad.
Earned every ounce of respect you have,
Fought to the end.
Encouraged others to fight for our country,
Will always be a hero to me.

I thought of this poem because my father was in the military.
